User Key Operations

Repair User

The repair user operation is only applicable to the system-generated (by the CloudCenter platform) public-private key pair per cloud account/cloud region for each user.

Normally, keys are generated when a user launches a job for the first time on a cloud. The Repair User (reinitialize user/reinit user) option allows admins to regenerate SSH keys for this user.

The following screenshot shows the Repair User option

This option allows the admin to verify the following tasks:

  • If the CCM and the CCO are communicating with each other.
  • If they are not communicating, an error message displays. 
  • If the user is stuck at any point due to a key pair error, use this option to reinitialize this user.

If you are unable to deploy to a cloud and receive the InvalidKeyPair.NotFound error, try reinitializing this user.

SSH Key Assignment

At the time of deployment, be aware of the following upload nuances:

  • Users cannot upload the private key
  • Users can upload the public key.

Persisting the Private Key

Users can choose to persist the private key to enable inter-VM communication.

Users can only persist the private key if the Assign SSH Key option is not selected. See SSH Options for additional context.
